Day 01 - Istanbul Arrival
When arrival to Istanbul Airport, you will be met by our guide and will be with you during your transfer to your hotel. You have the afternoon and evening free to relax or take a short tour around your accomadation in the city.
Day 02 - Istanbul
Today, you will see the traces of the history of Anatolia. First visiting the beautiful Blue Mosque decorated with beautiful 17th century Iznik tiles. Then walk around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were once done. Going on with the Hagia Sophia which is said as the jewel of Byzantine architecture. Have lunch in the Topkapi Palace - Konyali Restaurant which offers spectacular views of the Bosphorus.Go on visiting Topkapi Palace and Museum, the house of the legendary Ottoman Sultans, now changed into a museum. All within less then a mile distance between each other.
Day 03 - Istanbul
After having breakfast at hotel, meet your guide at hotel lobby for a short drive to Spice Market, Egyptian Bazaar filled up with various sweets and spices is one of the world’s biggest spice bazaars since 1665. Soon after, we get on the Bosphorus ferry for an unforgettable cruise along the Bosphorus, the beautiful strait that seperates Europe from Asia. After lunch break, we go on driving across the first Bosphorus Bridge and head for the summit of Camlica Hill, which gives an opportunity a 360° panoramic views of Istanbul overlooking the Sea of Marmara. Passing back to Europe over the Bosphorus Bridge, we will have stop in Dolmabahçe Palace where the Sultans of Ottoman Empire lived. It is among the biggest and largest palaces in the world.
Day 04 - Istanbul / Gallipoli Canakkale
After breakfast, check out & meet for early morning drive to Eceabat. On arrival, we have lunch in the village before touring the Gallipoli ANZAC Memorials Tour. We will see Kabatepe War Museum, ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston's Jolly (Turkish & Allied trenches & tunnels), The Nek & Chunuk Bair New Zealand memorial, Simpson’s Cemetery where the 1. World War and Turkish Indepence War were done . After visiting we cross the Dardenelles by car ferry to Canakkale and check-in to hotel.The evening is at leisure or for those that wish there is a screening of the 4 Corners documentary 'Fatal Shore' and the 'Gallipoli' movie starring Mel Gibson.
Day 05 - Troy & Pergamum / Kusadasi
After breakfast at hotel, check-out and depart to Troy. The Greek poet Homer wrote about the ancient city Troy in The Iliad. Troy is one of the world's most important archaeological areas because of its place in literature and what it tells us about a crucial early period in the development of European civilization. The large replica of the Trojan horse at the front of the traces, is part of the myth of the Trojan War. After Troy we will go to Pergamum. The site of ancient Pergamum is located on a steep hilltop, the capital of Pergamum kingdom after the death of Alexander the Great was a cultural center having a large library rivaling that of Alexandria in Egypt. After the tour, go on south to reach Kusadasi.
Day 06 - Ephesus / Kusadasi
After breakfast you will proceed to the Ancient City of Ephesus, the best preserved Greco-Roman City in the world. Here you will see the Agora, Odeon, Curetes Street, Celsius Library, famous Roman Baths, the Grand Theatre and Marble Street. After lunch, depart for the House of Virgin Mary where she is said to have spent the remainder of her days. The tour also includes a visit to the remains of Artemis Temple, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Your accommadation will be at Kusadasi.
Day 07 - Kusadasi / Pamukkale
We will check out from hotel and start a 2.5 hours to reach Pamukkale, the white heaven. But first we'll visit Hierapolis, which is adjacent to Pamukkale. Pamukkale means 'cotton Castle' is a fantastic geographical creation of the world. The traces of the ancient city cover more than a mile. We see the impressive amphitheatre with seats still in perfect condition, the city gates, and column-lined streets and arches which have stood through time & earthquakes. We visit the Martyrium of St. Philip where the apostle is said to be buried in a worship chamber surrounded by eight chapels. After the tour of Pamukkale, you will be transferred to your hotel in Pamukkale village.
Day 08 - Pamukkale / Antalya
Leisure time in Pamukkale village. Check out at noon and taking you to Central Bus Station for 3.5 hours coach journey to Antalya. On arrival check in to hotel at historical Kaleici quarter. If you are feeling more active, after a short stroll from your hotel you will reach the restaurants and bars area, each combine delicious meals with a wonderful environment where you can find fun to suit most tastes. Other places which are at a walking distance; Hadrianus Gate from the time of Roman Emperor Hadrian, Clock Tower, Palm Street, Old Town with Marina, Republican Square will be the perfect introduction to Antalya on the Mediterranean Sea, an area known as the Turquoise Coast.
Day 09 - Side Perge & Aspendos / Antalya
Leave in the morning to visit Perge, an important city of ancient Pamphylia. St. Paul had visited Perge on his first missionary travel. The theatre stage has finely hallowed marble reliefs and other diggings from around the city are shown in the stadium. Then go to Aspendos, which is one of the best preserved Roman theatres in Asia Minor. After lunch by the river, we go to see Manavgat Waterfalls before going to Side. Side is one of the famous classical sites in Turkey. It was an ancient harbour, today Side is a pretty resort town with its ancient ruins, two sandy beaches and lots of tiny souvenir shops. The magnificent theatre of the ancient city, built on colonnaded arches, is the largest in the whole area. Return to hotel for overnight stay in Antalya.
Day 10 - Antalya / Konya
After breakfast, we will go to Antalya Bus Station for intercity coach to Konya (3.5hrs). Upon arrival to Konya, transfer to hotel in city centre within walking distance to Mevlana Museum. Leisure time in Konya to visit Mevlana’s Tomb, Museum and Theological School which was once home to the Whirling Dervishes. Take a walk around the cities outstanding and numerous great Seljuk buildings - mosques and caravanserais which are Konya's pride and joy. Overnight Konya.
Day 11 - Konya / Cappadocia
After breakfast, check out and intercity coach to Goreme (4hrs). Transfer to hotel upon arrival. Strolling around you will get the feeling of living in a Turkish village, where houses are built in caves,and life goes on as it has for centuries. You may see villagers baking bread, drying fruit on their rooftops or riding on donkeys to their fields. Overnight Goreme.
Day 12 - Cappadocia
When you arrive the North Cappadocia, you will be taken to your hotel to have a rest for a great trip on next day. After having breakfast you will first visit the fairy chimneys which are famous all around the world. Their shapes are like mushroom house. You will also make witnessing to the nice view of Devrent Valley. Then, you will go on your tour from Avanos where you will have your lunch. After lunch, you will be taken to Göreme Open Air Museum which is called by Unesco as a Heritage Site. When you come to end of your tour you will visit the natural churches in Uçhisar. End of the day, you will be transfered to your hotel. On your fifth day of your tour you will have a fantastic night in your traditional Cappadocian cave hotel.
Day 13 - Cappadocia / Istanbul
After breakfast, we will start our day from Derinkuyu underground city, we'll walk through the underground city of Derinkuyu. Afterwards a short walk through the green Ihlara Valley along the stream and meeting some of the churches dug into the walls of the gorge. Have a break in Belisirma village for lunch and then go on to Selime for a nice view. Our last visit will be at the Agzikarahan Caravanserai built by the Seljuk Emperor to stay for travelers on the ancient Silk Road. Returning to Goreme Check out from hotel and transfer to Kayseri or Nevsehir Airports (depending on flight availability) for flight to Istanbul. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 14 - Istanbul Departure
Depending on your flight time, check-out (12:00) from hotel & remainder of day will be at leisure till your transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for your homebound flight.
